Career Opportunities
At BarkerGilmore, employees can choose to follow one of two tracks: research or recruitment. Both play a unique, but equally important, role in our ability to consistently deliver exceptional results for our clients.
Are you highly analytical? Do you enjoy innovative problem-solving? If so, then BarkerGilmore’s research track may be a good fit for you. Each member plays a critical role in the successful completion of our searches, all the way from pitch to placement.
Are you a “people person”? Do you build rapport easily? If so, then you may be destined for a career in recruitment. Our recruiting track will allow you to build long-lasting relationships with top-tier lawyers, compliance officers, and corporate executives across the U.S.
This role is designed for college graduates early in their careers and allows them to explore our research and recruiting tracks. As a Research Analyst, you will gain a strong foundation of knowledge in database maintenance and the in-house legal and compliance framework. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, analytical, and self-motivated. Opportunities for career progression include the strategic Research Associate role or the market-facing Associate in recruitment.
In this role, you will regularly interact with BarkerGilmore’s talent network and client base. The Research Director is involved in every aspect of a search, from pitch to placement. They lead candidate sourcing efforts and strategy, actively participate in meetings with the client, and provide invaluable support to the recruitment team when it comes to helping prospects and clients alike navigate the search process. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience in research, analysis, or executive search.
The Research Managing Director plays an integral role in leading candidate sourcing efforts and is responsible for collecting and analyzing data to aid in the continuous refinement and improvement of the firm’s recruitment and client development processes. They oversee the marketing function and are responsible for creating and distributing research reports and other materials to maintain BarkerGilmore’s position as a thought leader within the industry. Ideal candidates will have 8+ years of experience in research, analysis, or executive search.
In this role, you will provide important support to the search process to ensure we execute each client engagement to the very highest standards. We will be relying on you to lead the identification of, and communications with, candidates during the search engagement, and to keep Managing Directors and Partners up to speed with how the search is progressing. This position is a highly visible role with excellent career track potential. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of executive search or industry experience. A J.D. is preferred.
This role will draw on your deep market or functional knowledge to the full degree and will enable you to hone your skills in a business that is driven by excellence. This is a developmental position on the path toward Partner. You will achieve that level by successfully developing new client relationships and executing search assignments. As a Managing Director, you will oversee the entire search execution process, from candidate identification to client management. Your ability to deliver exceptional client service will ensure you quickly become known for your outstanding client satisfaction ratings, placement ratios, and market expertise.
