Law360 (May 8, 2018, 7:49 PM EDT) — Female in-house counsel earn 84 percent of what their male counterparts earn on average, with the gender pay gap growing steeper still at the general counsel level, a report released Tuesday said. A survey of 1,701 senior counsel, managing counsel and general counsel found that in 2017 the average woman surveyed across all three positions earned $298,500 in total compensation, while the average man earned $355,000. The gap is much larger at the general counsel level, with women making 78 percent of what men make, than at the managing counsel or senior counsel levels, which show women’s pay at 90 percent. . .
